REMET, spol. s r.o. is a private company that has been on the market since 1990. Since that year, it has been a major purchaser of scrap metal and a supplier of aluminium alloys and metal blanks.
REMET, spol. s r.o. is currently the largest manufacturer of aluminium casting alloys in the Czech Republic.
The REMET company manufacturers nearly 55-thousand tonnes of foundry aluminium alloy. From this figure, nearly 60-70% of basic alloys are used in the automotive industry. The bigger part of our production is sold on the domestic market, but we also find employment across the border, prominently in European Union countries like Germany, Austria, Croatia, the Netherlands, Slovenia and Slovakia. Outside of the EU, we supply our products to Switzerland, Macedonia and Serbia. We mainly supply our products to long-time clients, who rely on quality and speed of business.
We can prove our products’ quality not only through our personnel and the professionalism or our entire company, but also through our quality certification, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
This quality guarantees both long-lasting and new, small and large customers and business, thanks to which we are able to continuously and technologically push forward as we adjust to the market. We are also able to supply primary alloy with a more complicated standard in a very short period of time with the necessary quality.
A brief description of our focus
We supply
aluminium casting alloys according to the standard provided by the customer and modified metallic secondary raw materials (iron, stainless steel, cast iron, brass, copper, brass, tin, bronze, zinc, lead).
We buy
scrap metal: iron, cast iron, stainless steel, aluminium and aluminium alloys, copper, brass, tin, bronze, zinc, lead, car batteries.
We dispose of
Car wrecks in an environmentally-friendly manner, including the issuance of confirmations for their removal from the register of vehicles; we also dispose of metal structures, machinery and technological equipment.
We provide transportation and delivery of containers.
We sell technical and food gases

9 November – Remet Engineering s.r.o. based in Prštice established
Company renamed REMET, spol. s r.o.
On 1 October 1992, the Company purchase a production and warehouse facility at Brno, Vídeňská 11/127 – the current headquarters of the Company – in the process of a large privatization through a direct sale.
Mechanical machine processing of iron scrap by the method of cutting using a large-capacity Lindemann shear set began
A subsidiary called RM SERVIS, currently an authorized dealer of the car manufacturer Peugeot, was established
Majority interest in KOVOLIT, a.s. (located in Modřice) was purchased
Production of aluminium casting alloys initiated

Environmental Protection
Environmental protection is one of the priority tasks today and in the future. Material recovery of waste is an absolutely essential task for the whole of society today, saving our environment, primary raw materials and energy resources.
This way, metal waste from industrial processing and production goes back into the circulation of raw materials and values.
REMET buys and processes scrap metal based on an integrated permit pursuant to Act No. 76/2002 Coll. In accordance with this authorization, metal waste is bought, sorted, mechanically and pyrometallurgically processed and sold for further use.
Environmental protection consists mainly in air and water protection and environmentally-friendly management of accepted and produced waste.
Since 1995, operating, storage and handling areas on the company premises have been insulated against possible contamination of soil and groundwater and rain water is discharged into a pre-treatment facility and de-emulsification treatment plant reconstructed in 2013. The quality of discharged waste water is regularly analysed and controlled.
Remet operates two listed sources of air pollution – a central gas boiler and aluminium smelter.
All sources of air pollution are operated in accordance with Act No. 201/2012 Coll., on Air Protection. Emissions of all sources are regularly measured in the extent required by an integrated permit. Emission limits, which are set for certain indicators beyond the Air Protection Act and its implementing regulations, are not exceeded. Low-carbon technology is applied in the aluminium smelter which is one of the most modern and most environmentally-friendly facilities in the field.
In 2007, the certification process according to ČSN ISO 14001:2005 Environmental Management System was successfully completed. Several internal and external audits are carried out each year.
As follows from the above, REMET pays increased attention to all components of the environment and spends substantial amounts of money on the implementation of measures intended to minimize the negative impacts of its activities on the environment.
